At Twynyrodyn Community School, we truly believe that “it takes a village to raise a child.” Our school is more than just a place to learn—it’s a vibrant, supportive community where families, local organisations, and partners come together to help every child thrive.
This year has already been full of meaningful connections and memorable experiences. Our choir brought joy to residents at Ty Cwm, while our younger pupils in Years 1 and 2 shared smiles and creativity during their Easter bonnet visit. These moments help children understand the importance of kindness, respect, and belonging.
We’ve been proud to support families too, with Pipyn parent support sessions offering guidance and connection. Our pupils have benefitted from exciting opportunities such as chess sessions with Rob Palser, our very own chess guru, and health and wellbeing workshops delivered by Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation.
There’s been plenty of fun along the way—our Easter bonnet parade, PTFA Easter Bunny visit, and school discos brought smiles all around, while the Fit and Fed Easter Camp kept children active and engaged over the holidays.
Learning beyond the classroom has been a big focus too. Pupils have taken part in cycling proficiency training, worked with Table Tennis Wales, and enjoyed creative experiences with talented artists like Rhiannon and Justine Stroud. Our history workshops, along with visits from the police and fire brigade, have helped bring learning to life in exciting and practical ways.
And we’re not stopping there! Coming soon, we’re delighted to be hosting drop-in sessions with the Citizens Advice Bureau, alongside Signposted Cymru mental health support sessions—continuing our commitment to supporting the wellbeing of our whole community. We will also be hosting Food and Fun sessions this summer too!
At Twynyrodyn, we are proud of the strong relationships we are building every day. Together, we are creating a community where children feel supported, families feel connected, and everyone plays a part in helping our learners grow and succeed.
